Mintaka is the sailors’ name for the star delta-Orionis, the westernmost of the three stars in Orion’s belt. It is the only bright star that is visible from anywhere on Earth, favouring neither the Northern nor the Southern Hemispheres. The name therefore symbolizes the vision and purpose of the Foundation. |
